Extra Credit Blog Entry

The film Michael Moore’s film Capitalism: A Love Story, really was an emotional roller coaster. I'm not one to get sad over any type of movies or documentary but this one was sad. Seeing real Americans get kicked out of their homes because they couldn't pay their rent was terrible. They work so hard just to have the little that they do and yet we have no compassion or sympathy toward them. People now a days are so wrapped up in money and having as much as they can of it. But the bible says "Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income. This is too meaningless." The richest people in this world are not only the ones who have God in their lives but  the ones who have nothing. For they are the ones who are grateful for any little thing they have. The people who lost their houses and jobs had nothing at that moment, but in the end they will have everything. The money hungry savages that took their homes and jobs will pay the price in the end. I'm glad Moore made this film to show us what the government and business people did and are continuing to do. It makes you grateful for what you have and what society is coming to.
Blog Entry #6: Life as a server

Hey everyone who thinks serving sounds like so much fun.. think again! I can't speak for servers at your local Ihop or Buffalo Wild Wings but at least for me serving is not fun. I see the same people everyday who range from 55-103 years old. So I think you can pretty much guess that I work at a retirement home. But it's not a normal one. This one is for the rich who have to have half a million in their bank account before moving in.
In our main dining room where I work, you have to be respectful but social, funny but professional, and be super nice even when the resident is absolutely rude. Oh yeah, before accepting a job make sure you read the fine print that says they aren't allowed to tip you either. With any job you have to find out by experience if you enjoy it or not. So what I'm saying is if you don't like something stick it out a little but don't force yourself to stay.
So for all of you looking for a job.. if you want great benefits, a $300 Christmas Check, but crapy managers and $8.50 pay with crazy rushes and no tips.. Royal Oaks Retirement Community is the place for you.

Blog Entry #5: Shorter Classes at ASU

I would love shorter classes.. wouldn't you? Classes that drag along a whole semester are tough. It sometimes feels like the class is never gonna end depending on how interesting the topic or the class is. Taking shorter classes is a great idea for students who want to get in and get out of college. What student honestly wants to stay in college 4(+) years? None! The fast paste learners can easily keep up with those classes and save so much more money while doing it. Some of the professors may not like the idea of having to teach a class in that short of time but it'll benefit the students a lot. I just think we are the ones paying thousands of dollars so we should be the ones who get to choose if we want to take a faster class and get done with school faster or take a longer class and learn at a more steady pace.
I am glad ASU is even considering doing this but even though it'll cost students less money it'll still draw more to actually attend ASU since they would be the only school doing it. I thinks it's a great idea and other schools should consider.

Blog #3: Slant Isis

As of today a Russian plane was shot down by Isis and Fox news put up an article about how Obama needs to "step up". But what they don't know is that Russia isn't attacking Isis. They are bombing another part of Syria to get to a specific person. They got lucky and hit a couple of Isis areas but that was not what it was meant for. They are bombing the opposite side from where Isis is. Fox news is just slanting the information so that everyone thinks that we need to be aware of Russia's bombings. But in all reality Russia needs to be aware of who they pass over when trying to bomb in Syria and Iraq.

Bog Entry #4: Aliens

I seriously have no doubt about it that aliens are real!! Everyone always talks about how aliens are real or how it is impossible for there to be life on other planets. To me, anything is possible. I don't believe they look like that ugly pictures everyone associates them with. I think it is possible for there to be an alternate universe or even another universe among the thousands of galaxies out there. We are in 1 galaxy.. ONE! Out of the thousands of different unknown planets, galaxies, and stars in space. We have no idea what is out there, so for someone to say there is no such thing is a little ignorant. Just like in some opinions it's ignorant and dumb for people to believe in God. I believe in God, and I also believe in aliens. But I believe these things because there is so many things that are left with no explanation or things that couldn't "possibly" be possible. We haven't even discovered all of our oceans yet. There are still creatures we are finding to this day that we didn't even know existed. So how can one say aliens don't exist? Cause I'm sure the people in the 1600's didn't believe the technology we have would exist, and look at us now. We need to keep an open mind to all.

Entry #2: Growing Up Outside

Growing up you used to always see kids playing football in the street or riding their bikes around the block. Nowadays it is rare to even see a kid in the front yard. There's sometimes that one street in each neighborhood that has kids on it. But other that you never see them. It didn't matter to us if it was raining or 110 degrees outside. It would give us an excuse to run out in the rain or have a water ballon fight. Even after most of us would shower and get cleaned up we'd still go out there and run around. It's sad to know some of our younger siblings didn't get the childhood we had. Kids are so wrapped up in technology nowadays it's hard to get them to go do physical activity.  It's just sad that the more technology grows the more the front yard play decreases. My hope is that when my generations grows to become parents we encourage our kids to go outside with the neighborhood kids. Allow them to have the amazing childhood some of us had.

Entry #1: Blog Impressions

To me, Blogs can range from uninteresting to fun and exciting to read. That also has something to do with the topic the author is writing about but also can do with the look of the actual page the blog entry is on. If it's plain and boring it will come off as uninteresting such as the "The 25 Best Bloggers" website came off to me. As soon as I clicked on the link I was instantly uninterested just because nothing stood out to me. The previous blog I looked at, "Thirteenth Annual Weblog Awards" link instantly caught my attention. The look of the blog makes you actually want to read some of the blogs that are listed.

In the bigger picture, all that really matters is the message the blogs bring. The 25 Best Bloggers blog was not really that informative. It just talked about bloggers unlike the Thirtheenth Annual Weblog Awards which had tons to choose from. They are informative and range from topics like travel, LGBT issues, to politics, and health. The more attention getting your topics are and the more your blog stands out the more interesting to read it will be.
